Thrifty Finds....

You know I love a thrifty find and this black dress is no exception.  For those of you that thrift, have you ever had one of those finds that you just couldn't believe was still on the rack and was all yours for the taking?  Well, this dress was one of those finds.  It is the perfect length, the perfect summer weight, and I love EVERYTHING about it.  The dress didn't need to much added to it so I threw on my favorite mustard scarf, a skinny gold belt, the shoes that I have been living in, and voila the perfect look.

Tiers....

I bought this dress when I was in Toronto several weeks ago.  As soon as I spotted it hanging in the corner of the store I knew that I had to have it.  At the time I didn't realize that it was such a hot item and that it was sold out in H&Ms across the US.  The fit of the dress of the top is a little off, the way its meant to be worn so I wore the back as the front because it was cut a little lower and was a bit more flattering on me.  As soon as I started taking these pictures the wind decided to go crazy, but I was able to catch a few slow moments.  I hope you all had a great holiday.

I forgot that I took this quick pic of my outfit last week.  Since I already posted a red pant outfit this week I thought why not give you all another shot of red.  This time its a pair or red jeans, with the ever so classic navy and white stripe sweater, which is the perfect transitional spring to summer weight.  One more day until our long weekend everyone!

A Little Crew.....

This outfit totally reminded me of something out of the pages of the J Crew catalog minus the shoes.  I got this skirt awhile ago and I love wearing it with really casual tops.  I have been really into that look lately, a dressy piece paired with something really casual.  Its more everyday and I can get more use out of those items that would otherwise just sit in my closet waiting for an event to wear them to. Thrifty Finds...

When I go to the thrift store I usually have a couple of things in mind that I want to add to my wardrobe.  Sometimes I am successful and am able to take things off my never ending mental list. However, more often than not I leave with items that I wasn't necessarily looking for.  One item that has been on my list for quite sometime is a pair of red slacks which I finally found last week.  I went out for dinner with the boy so I wanted to keep it casual but couldn't resist adding just a little sass with these fun shoes!

The Booties In Action....

My clone Tracie and one of my fabulous followers, Ambyr, commented that they couldn't wait to see how I styled the shoes that I posted yesterday. Well ask and you shall receive. This is just one of the many outfits I have planned for these. Btw, the comfort level on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best is right at a 10. I didn't have the first day uncomfortable shoe syndrome, even a little bit. I can't wait to wear these again.

The Booties...

After the shoes that I bought from Forever fell apart, that I wore here, I was on the hunt for another pair of black bootie type shoes to replace them.  I found a pair a few months ago at Nordstrom but they weren't on sale at the time, so like most things that I like in passing I forgot about them.  One day while browsing the sale section online I found them again and this time the price was right.  So I quickly purchased them and they are the perfect replacement, another great shoe story from Nordstrom.  :)

A Break for a Birthday.....

I wanted to take a quick break from my normal post topics to wish my mom a very Happy Birthday!  She is more than anyone could ask for in a mom and is the most amazing person that I know.  We took this quick pic at her early birthday dinner on Saturday.

I spend this past weekend in Houston with my family to celebrate my mom's birthday a little early.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect and I finally got to wear these reptile print jeans that I snatched up at Nordstrom for a steal of a deal.  As I was just looking through my pictures I didn't get a close up of these pants so I will have to post one later.  They are the perfect ankle length and I enjoyed wearing them, the outfit possibilities are almost endless.  Next time I think I am going to pair them with a super summer bright top.  Did you all have a good weekend?

The Latest Collaboration.....

As far back as I can remember after learning about what Missoni was, in school, I wanted to own just one item knits from this infamous powerhouse.  Since most of what is sold is way out of my budget, even on sale, I haven't seen that dream come to fruition.  Well, that goal may be met in the upcoming months.  I learned recently that the next collaboration Target is doing is with MISSONI!!!!  The best news I heard all week.  I haven't seen too many product shots but I am very excited to see what they have in store.  The launch date is set for Sept 13th so mark your calendars!  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend.

Blueberry Delight....

Yesterday I briefly mentioned eating a dessert in my new rose bowls.  I haven't shared a recipe with you all in quite sometime.  I found this blueberry crumb bar recipe over the weekend, out of desperation to find a use for blueberries that I bought way too many of.  The recipe was very easy to follow and only required a few ingredients, most of which I already had in my pantry.  I was so busy cooking that I forgot to take pictures of my version so I borrowed the below ones.  Enjoy!

The Rose Bowls......

I was out shopping this past weekend as I do every weekend.   While in the sale section of Anthro I saw these bowls.  I asked myself do you really need more bowls?  No.  But did I buy them because they were on sale and fabulous in every way?  Yes.  I used one of them for dessert last night and for some reason it tasted 10 times better, maybe it was the bowl?  :)

Thrifty Finds....

Last week I posted, here, about items that were made to be worn together but would look way better worn separately.  When I go thrifting one of my newest things is finding skirt sets that I wouldn't necessarily wear together but that I think would look fantastic worn as separates.  I found the below skirt set a couple weeks ago for a whooping $5.99.  I knew that it would be too much worn together but before I  left the store I knew what I was going to pair with each item.  I wore the skirt this past weekend, and this is what I came up with.

I can't believe its already the weekend!  I'm not sure about you but this week flew by.  When I saw this dress,  it made me think of lunch with friends on some fabulous outdoor patio, with a tall glass of lemonade.  I love everything about it, from the plunging back to the fun polka dot and flower print.  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend!

2nd Times the Charm.....

I love blogging and because of that I find myself browsing the web a lot more than I used to.  I've been doing all my browsing on a computer that I have had since college circa 2003.  And if you know anything about computers it may be about 8 years old now, but in electronic years its like 50.  So for xmas last year I asked Santa for a computer but got an IOU.   Finally last week my mom, I mean Santa, let me know that I had a package on the way.  Skip forward to yesterday, on my front door was a 1st attempt notice for a package delivery.  I was kind of bummed and just knew that I would probably miss the delivery guy again because we all know they know just the right time to come, the hour when you aren't there.  But today to my surprise the door bell rang and there he was with my box.  I smiled from ear to ear and this is what was inside.......THANKS SANTA!!!

Its a Turban Thing.....

I am seeing the turban pop up more and more on many of your blogs.  I remember seeing this on Carrie, of course, in SSTC 2 wondering if it was going to go mainstream.  Well like most things that are too forward for the time, a few years later they end up everywhere.  If done right this can add a fun fashion element to your outfit.  However, if done wrong you can really end up looking like a train wreck.  What's your take on the turban? Better yet that cute little girl in the first image?  :)

My Dream Hair....

As far back as I can remember my hair has always been chemically straightened, and as they say too much of anything is not good.  I have always wanted BIG long hair and found that not only did my hair always look flat but it never grew past my shoulders.  So about a year ago I decided to take the plunge and stop chemically straightening my hair and let it grow out in its natural state.  Which for me is a tight curl.  Its been a year and 5 months since I last put a relaxer on my hair and I must admit that I love my hair so much more now!  With every new adventure in life there has to be a goal...so when I saw this image it became my dream hair, lashes included, which may need a little assistance from the MAC counter....LOL!
