Its Friday again and another Fashion Week is in full swing. Maybe I will be invited to go to a few of the shows next time... I stay hopeful that I will get to cross attending Fashion Week off my bucket list. *le sigh* On a much brighter note I found this outfit today and WOW!! I just knew that after Sunday there would be tons of posts about what you all picked up from the Jason Wu for Target collection. However, this was not the case unless I just completely missed all your posts. I had one goal in mind for that collection and it was the striped dress that I saw in every ad. 2 Targets later I was the happy owner of this little number. It's the cutest little dress and I can't wait for some warmer weather so I can wear it. Were any of you lucky enough to pick up some items?

I took my new booties out for a spin today. I LOVE them, and they are some of the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. I wanted to keep it super casual on top since the shoes are so glittery and fun, it was like having a party on my feet.

This past weekend, I was taking my usual weekend browse in the mall when I walked into Barneys. I had every intention on not spending a dime. I was going to take my usual walk through the Celine bags, hold one, look at myself in the mirror, dream a little, put it back, and then do a little more window shopping. Well on the way to the clothing section I had to walk through the shoe salon and saw these boots. They stopped me right in my tracks. I think it was the glitter. Needless to say I left with a Gaga's workshop bag in tow. Ah well maybe next time....

So a few months ago while catching up on some of my favorite blogs I came across the below picture with the Beckerman Sisters and my favorite, the Jenna Lyons. I was so envious that they got to meet her at the opening of the J Crew in Toronto but was quickly distracted by that AMAZING skirt!!!! It was the perfect lime green color, so fun, and perfectly styled with that simple striped shirt. I searched for it on the J Crew site and couldn't find it, oh the disappointment. So fast forward to today. I was taking a browse on the Glitter Guide and saw a picture of the skirt only this time it was for sale, YESS it would be mine. *Heels clicking* Then reality sets in, the price $695, six hundred and ninety five dollarssss????? Who has that kind of money to spend on a skirt, apparently a lot of people since some of the sizes are already sold out. Ah well, I guess I will have to look for the similar yet more affordable version.

So I know that most of you, if not all, have seen the Isabel Marant sneakers that cost an arm and a leg and maybe even a lock of hair. They are mostly sold out everywhere and honestly I have been on the fence whether or not I like them. I don't wear shoes that are this casual too often, but its one of those things that if you see them so often they start to wear on you. Since, I can't afford the real thing I took to the web to see if I could find a similar alternative. I think the below do the job and what fun colors!

When I purchased this stole from H&M several weeks ago I didn't realize how much I would wear it. I have dressed it up, dressed it down, and basically have tried to wear it any chance it get. I was in Houston this past weekend and the weather was beyond perfect. The high was 70 everyday and there was not a cloud in the sky, so I snapped these quick picks with my favorite faux fur.

I loved the Charlotte Taylor for Anthropologie collection so much that I think I bought every piece! It was especially enticing to get it all when there was an additional 50% off the marked sale price back in December. Today I opted for the flamingo skirt, which is one of my favorite pieces. I took a little risk by wearing it with this mustard green sweater but I think it turned out great!

So I know that I post many a D.I.Y and "say" that I am going to try them and you never see a follow up post. Well, do I have a surprise for you! Do you remember the garland D.I.Y that I posted here? Well, I finally finished the one that I was making for my cousin's baby girl. I think it turned out great with the exception that it is like twice the size that I wanted it to be. Ah well, not every project will be perfect. It will just have a larger presence in the baby's room, but not such a bad thing because its SUPER CUTE. What do you think?

I love how unique and fun this vest is. This was another Nordstrom Rack find that I picked up several weeks ago and am now just getting the chance to wear. Although it was quite cold outside this morning, I didn't really like the way it looked with long sleeves so I wore short sleeves with it instead. Anything in the name of fashion right? Topped off with my wooden bracelet and flare jeans and I was out the door. Happy Hump Day everyone!

I saw these booties at Nordstrom Rack this past weekend and LOVED them. They are reminiscent of the Derek Lam wedges that I loved last season and missed out on. They are by a brand called Messeca, that I have never heard of but I tried them on to do a quick comfort check and now they have been added to the collection. I have definitely been on a shoe kick. My Visit to the DMA....

This past weekend I finally got the chance to go see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the DMA. I have heard so much about it and I knew that February would be here before I knew it and the my chance to see it would be gone. I wasn't allowed to take pictures while in the exhibit but let me tell you it was worth every penny of that $20 they charged to get in. The weather was just brisk enough that I was finally able to wear this rust stole I picked up from H&M a few weeks ago. Yay!

I haven't updated you all on the progress of decorating my house so I thought I would show you a great item I found via the Glitter Guide instagram. A few weeks ago I feel in love with the paper mache animal wall hangings that were in the West Elm catalog. There was something about the quirkiness of them that I loved and knew they would add an element of surprise to my living room. I thought these were exactly what I had been looking for, but this past weekend I found the last image and feel head over heels in love! Those gold horns made this deer head beyond amazing. So now I have my eyes set on something else. I can't wait to order this and hang it in my living room.

As One Year Comes To a Close A New One Begins: The Follow Up!

Last year at around this time I created a short list of goals that I wanted to accomplish in 2011. I can't believe that it has been a year since I wrote these for myself and looking back I am very happy to say that I accomplished all of these goals with the exception of 1. Work out one more day during the week. - CHECK
Find the perfect shade of red lipstick. - CHECK, Red Lizard has absolutely become a staple in my make up bag.
Be more forgiving of others. - CHECK
Find more blogs to love! - CHECK, I love showcasing your style every Friday in my "What I Love about Your Look Post."
Learn to use my camera with out the aid of the auto setting.- The only one I didn't accomplish. I will try again in 2012. :(

I love a great D.I.Y. and I have been wanting to try to make something for my cousin that will soon give birth to a baby girl. I love confetti system line of tissue paper garland but also want to incorporate her little ones name. So I am thinking glitter, letters, and long tissue garland will turn into something fantastic. Until I am able to find the supplies I need for this project I wanted to share the fun DIY I found for the garland.

I found this blazer at Anthropologie on super sale over the summer when it was 100 degrees outside. You can't tell from the picture but its a pretty thick knit blazer. I bought this Opening Ceremony jacket last year from Anthro and only got the chance to wear it once. The weather here has been so much cooler, so I pulled it out from the back of my closet and paired it with these fun pants and tee. I wasn't sure what shoes to wear so after going through a couple pair I decided on my new favorite pair of black boots which also happen to be Opening Ceremony too. So I guess it ended up being an Opening Ceremony Day.

BHDLN.... while I was in Houston I had the chance to visit the first and only BHLDN, the everything for your wedding counter part of Anthropologie. I simply went to get a glance at what Anthro thinks a bride would want and the look of the store combined with the product mix is exactly what I thought it would be. The store was an open airy concept that consisted of 4 main rooms. The first with jewelry and brides maid dresses, the other with wedding paraphernalia (invites etc), the second to last room is filled with shoes and bridal accessories, and the last room at the back was all the beautiful wedding dresses. If you are an Anthro girl at heart this is the place for you.

It seems like its been forever since I did an outfit post. Let me tell you, its definitely been a challenge trying to take pictures of my daily outfits since I get home when its dark. I tried taking some photos inside and it seems that I have a lot to learn about taking pictures indoors. This was the only one that came out decent enough to post. Enough about that, I'm not sure if you remember this blazer that I blogged about here. Well, I finally purchased it! I must say that it is a little challenging to outfit, but I love it anyway. I have been so busy the past couple of weekends painting my house. The only rooms left to paint are the 2 bathrooms and the guest room. My bed that I blogged about here, which seems like a lifetime ago will be ready very soon and I have been trying to pull everything together in my master bedroom. As I mentioned before I wanted my room to be white and navy with little touches of hot pink to make it more feminine. I found these great rabbit hooks in hot pink and thought they would be a fun addition to hang jewelry on. Maybe I can incorporate them in a frame like I mentioned here, but I haven't decided yet.

At these shoes because unfortunately this is the first and last time you see them. I have been looking a new pair of flats since the only pair that I own is brown. I saw these babies, tried them on to make sure it was a good fit, the price was right, so I bought them. I snapped these right before I was off to work. Well, let me tell you about halfway into the day my feet hurt so bad that I could barely walk. While I LOVE these shoes, I couldn't justify keeping an uncomfortable pair of flats, it really does seem like an oxymoron, right? Has this ever happened to any of you, aren't flat shoes supposed to be comfortable?

I posted this great D.I.Y several weeks ago and mentioned that I didn't have a iPhone to use it on. Well....the tides have turned and Siri was introduced and now I like so many other Americans own one. YAY! I am so excited to finally have a cool phone that can do cool things. My current phone is good for texting, calling, and on a good day I can send and receive a picture or two. Quick post today I am off to look for phone cases, I have had my eye on this one. :)

I recently picked up this dress from Anthro, I had been eyeing it for awhile and the price was right so I took a chance. Turns out its the perfect transitional dress from Summer to Fall. I absolutely love the full bottom of this dress, and when I don't wear it to work I would loose the tank I put under it to hide the girls. I have already decided that the next time I wear this I will put a top on to give the appearance that it's a skirt.

Do you remember when those J Brand skinny cargos were all the rage? Well, it seems that they went out as soon as they came in or maybe they just got too saturated in the market. While in San Francisco I took a quick stop into H&M, we finally have one in Dallas but its quite the drive away from my house. I saw the cutest navy blouse with a horse print that I was instantly drawn to. Well, I looked through every size on the rack and mine just happened to be sold out. I was bummed but saw this scarf that was the exact same print so I settled for it instead. I will have to snap a couple more pictures of just this scarf so you can see the cute print.

Hello from San Francisco. Its the last day of my trip and the weather the last two days has been perfect! I had my brother snap these quick pics of my outfit while we were out shopping in Union Square one of my favorite stops. Its totally the tourist thing to do but I love that all my favorite stores are mashed together in walking distance. The last time I wore this dress, here, it was a little bit cooler outside and for some reason I haven't worn it since. Dress My Nest: The Light Fixture...

So as many of my long time followers know I have been in the process of decorating my house. Its been a slow process but one none the less. Just to forewarn you, today I have a little bit longer of story than usual. Here it goes. A few weekends ago I went to one of my favorite gems of a home decorating store from which have purchased a couple items. A few mirrors, which you will see in the up coming months, and a lamp. So on this particular visit I wasn't really looking for anything special just taking my usual browse and came across the most beautiful light fixture, there were 2 of them hanging from the ceiling. I knew that it would be perfect in my office and they were on SALE!! I walked up to them to purchase one and hanging on each price tag were 2 sold signs. BUST!! I asked the sales person if there happened to be anymore to which she said no and I left thinking that if it was meant to be it would have been available for purchase. Fast forward to this past Saturday. I go again, and as soon as I walk through the door to my delight there it was the same light fixture, and only ONE. I quickly told the associate that I wanted to purchase it. It was on sale this time too, not as great as the last time, but it was like all the stars aligned and it will be perfect in my office and I can't wait to put it up. What do you think?

The Waistcoat....

This waistcoat was love at first sight when I first saw it at Barney's a couple years ago. Its one of those pieces that I think I will have forever. The deep eggplant color, combined with the gold buttons, and over sized bow make for the perfect waistcoat. I can tell that Fall is coming since the sun used to still be pretty high when I took my pictures and now it seemed like it was past dusk. While I love the cooler temps it sure makes taking pictures more challenging.

I have another one for you all. I don't post a D.I.Y for weeks and now I have 2 in one week. This D.I.Y is not quite as cute and girly as the one I posted on Monday but I think that its such a fun easy idea. As I am probably one of the last people on the planet that doesn't have an iphone so I can't do this for myself but if any of you do and try this let me know how this turns out.

P.S.- Have any of you bought anything from the Missoni for Target collection? Man that stuff sold out like hot cakes. All I wanted was that fun zig zag quilt and its no where to be found. :(

Neon Orange.....

I have kind of been obsessed with all shades of orange and as the summer is coming to a close I am trying to wear my summer dresses just a little while longer. This dress fit the bill today and I normally wear it full without the belt but wanted to try something new today since I had to put a cardigan on to make it more work appropriate. So a skinny leopard belt and a grandpa cardigan in a neutral color were the perfect additions to this dress today. As the weather gets a little cooler outside I can swap the sandals for boots and voila an instant transition to Fall.
