A La Leopard.....
I've had to get really creative with my outfits on vacation, since I was not all prepared for the super warm weather. I haven't been able to wear heels as much as I normally do, sad face, but its all in the name of being a tourist walking to the train daily. Not to mention comfort, which at this point is way more important than the illusion of longer legs. :) I am in my last week of vacation and know that in an instant I will be back at work and reality. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Japan Week 1: Through the Instagram Lense......
What a world wind this week has been. I can't believe the time is flying by so quickly and my first week here is already over. :( As I mentioned in my last post the weather here has been so hot but everyday we still hit the pavement, sweaty and all to take in the sights and sounds of this wonderful country. Here are a couple snaps from my first week here. I hope you all had a great week and enjoy and even better weekend.
1. Our first stop daily, the Yokohama Train Station.
2. Lines and lines of handles for on board passengers.
3. Vending machines line the streets here like Starbucks x10.
4. The "Sunbrella" also known as the umbrella, a VERY important accessory here.
5. Yummy muffins from my trip to Tokyo Disney
6. Since there is a lack of space inn most homes baking is a luxury. There are tons of bakeries all over to fulfill your pastry needs.
7. Just me.

Greetings from Japan....
I finally had the chance to squeeze in some pictures of a recent outfit. Between hanging out with family and the sweltering heat its been a challenge. Japan has been amazing and the language barrier has not been as difficult as I anticipated. Since its been unbearably warm I have been keeping it pretty simple. You know I had to include the Japanese double peace sign pose. :)
Style Tip: You can still be fashionable when the temperature is less than desirable. Light cotton knit dresses, and single layers work best. Add simple accessories and you have a cool, cute look.

This Little Piggy...
I have seen this little piggy bank on a few different design blogs over the past year. I love the idea of a modern take on such and old classic. They are a little more than I would like to pay at about 100 a pop but all in the name of design right?
P.S.- Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I was preparing to come to Japan to visit my brother and his family. I will do my absolute best to update as much a possible while I am on vacation. Also, I was featured on the La Coco Bella blog earlier this week. See my feature as the Girl Behind the Curl, here.
I hope you all had a great week and enjoy and even better weekend.

I Think This Makes Me Official....
If you follow me on instagram then you know that late last week I received my very first business cards. I love them in every way and think they are the perfect representation of me and my blog, simple and chic. I found this company moo.com from a fellow blogger and the moment I saw her cards I wanted to get some for my blog. The site is super easy to navigate and I received my cards within a week and half of ordering them.
As promised for those of you that want to try them for free, they do come with a little moo.com stamp on the side, click here. If you want cards without the extra moo advertising click HERE, 10% discount will be taken from your order.
I am featured on the Feisty House blog today, YAY! To see my picks for the top 5 fashion items that describe my personal style click here.

Baby Wedge....
I don't wear flats too often because well, who doesn't love an elongated leg? There are times, though, that wearing flats are a must. I recently came across this great option, the baby wedge, and it gives your leg a little lift but has the comfort of a flat. The cute buckle detail doesn't hurt either.
Style Tip: I love sky high heels, however there are times when its ok to wear something a little shorter. There are some great cute AND comfortable options out there. I am now a new fan of the baby wedge.

What I Want Now.....
These fantastic flats. I don't really wear or own too many flat shoes but I will make an exception for these. You all know that I love leopard and combined with lucite, adds a fun twist to this style. Aren't they so fun?
I Love These Pants.....
I purchased this red denim several months ago and wore them in a previous outfit post, here. When I bought them little did I know that they would be so versatile. Who would think that a bright red pair of pants could be worn with so many things? This time I tried the oh so popular red and denim combo which is a very easy, chic, casual styling. The denim top is a recent purchase from Forever that I love the highs and lows of, but doesn't photograph so well. But trust me its a cool lookin shirt.
Style Tip: Red pants, no they aren't just for the holidays. They are a great option for those days when you just don't feel like wearing regular old blue denim and are a little too intimidated by the bright neon trend. They can be worn with several colors, dressed up, or dressed down. The options can be endless.

D.I.Y- Stars.....
Recently I have been in love with the idea of oversized repeated prints. And the Current/Elliott exploded star collection is no exception. Unfortunately after all the damage that I did on summer sales, buying any of these pieces isn't in my immediate future. Well, lucky for me I found this fantastic D.I.Y option that will achieve the same look for a fraction of the price.

D.I.Y Version:
Items needed- Denim item of your choice, can be old cut offs or a denim jacket as above, white craft paint I also think gold could be another very cool option, star stencil, and a foam brush.
1. Place stencil where you want your star, dip brush in paint, and dab on stencil until shape is covered in paint.
2. Remove stencil.
3. Repeat.
4. Do this process until your item is covered by stars to your liking.

A Second Chance.....
I made it my mission to try this denim on several weeks ago when I saw them in a few outfit posts of my fellow bloggers. I was so excited to finally have the chance to try them on and ugh they didn't fit right. It was one of those things that I guess wasn't meant to be. Well, I saw them again this past weekend the last pair and in my size so I thought what the heck we will give it a go again. And what do you know, they fit completely different than they did the last time. I don't know if I was working out extra hard these past couple of weeks, but whatever the reason they are now mineeeee......
Style Tip: Don't be afraid to give a garment a 2nd chance especially if you have started working out more or are trying a new clean way of eating. What didn't work before could work the 2nd time around. This is not the case most of the time, but what does it hurt to try just once more?

Peplum......
I came across this top at J Crew a few months ago but with a price tag of over 200 bucks it was way out of my budget. Fast forward to a couple weekends ago and a couple of markdowns later combined with an additional 30% off and it ends up on its way home with me. Not only I was doing the happy dance all the way home, it was the first peplum in my wardrobe. I decided that my blogger finale was the perfect time to break this top out. Its perfectly dressy casual and I love it in every way.
Style Tip: Do you peplum? These tops are so versatile and very figure flattering. The key to wearing this style is to keep the look continuous from top to bottom. What I mean by this is you should make sure that there is no bare skin btw the bottom of your top and the top of whatever you choose to wear on the bottom. For another option I love the way Blair paired her top here!
