Smoke......

Since I love to eat, I am always looking for a great restaurant to try.  This desire of mine took me to Smoke over the weekend for their infamous brunch. A lot of my coworkers were raving about this place so I thought what the heck, I'll try anything once.  Well let me tell you it was everything everyone said and more.  From the very hip but rustic decor, to the laid back staff, and most important of all the AMAZING food it was all so wonderful.   It was one of those kinds of restaurants where you want to try everything that everyone else is having.   It was overall a great experience 2 thumbs up.

Who Said a Burger had to be Wrapped in Paper?

Yesterday I was finally able to try one of those, hey we should try that place, restaurants that I had been stalking for awhile.  I have been to quite a few restaurants in Dallas and unfortunately most of them have been added to the do not return list.  However, Square Burger was a great addition to the I would definitely go back there list.  The food was simple yet full of flavor and everything about my plate was a visual explosion. The sweet potato fries were the perfect size and crispiness, the pickle had a golden tempura crust, and the burger was....I'll let the pictures speak for that one.  It was one of those dishes that came out looking so good that I didn't want to touch it.  If you are ever in downtown McKinney and in the mood for a quality burger I would definitely give this place a whirl.  Happy Monday Everyone!

Ici...Gourment Ice Cream Du Jour.....

On the last day in San Francisco we had time to go visit Berkeley before I had to leave for my flight.  We went to an outdoor shopping area, which seemed like a good idea that morning until is started sprinkling on and off.  I was just getting into a brisk walk when my brother made a B line for a small gourmet ice cream shop called Ici.  There were about 4 people in the line which my brother says NEVER happens, and that he heard it was some of the best hand dipped ice cream around.  They had favors like Candied Mayer Lemon, Pear Ginger Sorbet, and Pistachio Sour Cherry, which is the flavor that I ended up getting.  Let me tell you the ice cream was a little on the pricey side for just one small scoop, but definitely worth every penny.  The unusual mix of flavors and the creaminess of the ice cream made for a small party in my mouth with each bite.  If you are ever in Berkeley I think this place is definite must.  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend.

Tartine, A Love Story!

Hey All!!! I am sorry I have been MIA.  I went to San Francisco last weekend and thought that I would have time to post before I left, but time slipped away and before I knew it, it was time to leave for the airport.  I love San Fran, its such a unique city and I always have such a great time.  I took lots of pictures that I hope to share with you this week, but I will start with a little food post.  Last time I was there I was introduced to Tartine Bakery.  You know a place is somewhere you have to be when the line is hanging out the door every time you go.  Not only do they have some of the best scones I have ever had, but everything I have tried thus far has been AMAZING!!  If you ever have the chance to stop by this bakery I would certainly recommend it.  I hope you all had a great weekend!

Good Eats: Le Duni

My big brother is in town for business and I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with him. I always have a hard time finding something to entertain guests in such a short amount of time, as we had to do an activity that could be done after I got off of work. With that said I opted for the usual dinner and a quick walk around the "fancy" mall in town. I know, I know not that exciting right? For those of you that are familiar with Dallas we went to Northpark mall and ended up at La Duni for dinner, which I have been wanting to try. Well let me tell you it did not disappoint. This restaurant serves a fusion of Latin influenced dishes that are all as beautiful as they are flavorful! Not only are the appetizers/main courses delicious but they have a wonderful assortment of desserts to choose from. If you are ever in Dallas this restaurant is a must. What are some of your favorite places to go eat?

Good Eats: Aw Shucks

The weather this weekend was Amazing with a capital A! I decided that I didn't want to sit in the house so I took a walk around the lake and then visited this restaurant called Aw Shucks which hit the spot. It's this hole in the wall restaurant nestled in lower Greenville in Dallas. They serve all things seafood and after having food envy for all the other dishes that the other patrons were already devouring I decided on the fish tacos. If you live in the Dallas area you have to visit this restaurant. I also recommend to go on a nice warm day as most of the seating is outdoors.
