Something Old..Something New...

We had almost perfect weather again on Sunday, during the day.  I say during the day because as soon as the sun set it was way colder than the day lead you to believe that it would be.  I found this belt while thrifting a few weeks ago and didn't really know what I would pair with it, but once I remembered that I had this dress I knew it would be the perfect pairing of old and new.  I threw on the mustard scarf to add just a little splash of color.  It also proved to be quite functional once the sun went down.

I Am So Inspired By....

This room! I think that I have found the inspiration for my bedroom, and it will be centered around these gorgeous navy curtains.  There is something about the stiffness of the fabric and they way they cascade from ceiling to floor that I love!  I am thinking navy, hints of hot pink, and white.  And you know me I have to find some mirrored things to add as well.  I have my eye on a few items at Pier 1.  The seeds have been planted, I am so excited to see how this evolves.  Stay tuned readers!

Not So Glamorous....

I wish that I could say that my Black Friday shopping experience today was as glamorous as the picture below, but I can't.  I spent 45 minutes in line at the Gap, but it was all worth it, since I walked away with this fabulous faux fur leopard jacket for my little niece.  She is a fashionista in the making.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends, and that your weekend is filled with all the things you enjoy.

My Pleated Skirt Decision.....

Do you remember a few weeks ago, here, when I was deciding on a pleated skirt style that I wanted to buy?  Well a decision and a purchase have been made.  Ironically enough although all my inspiration came from Zara I ended up buying the drop pleated style from my local thrift store.  It is just as cool as the ones from Zara but a fraction of the price.  I love a good deal don't you?

A Little Organization Can Go A Long Way...

Since moving into my house a little less than a year ago, I have had this very large pile of "Important Papers" sitting on the floor of my office.  I knew that I needed to find a way to be more organized and originally thought I wanted a file cabinet, but after a little more thought didn't want to have such a traditional accessory.  I was in Ikea last week and saw a piece of furniture that I knew would be perfect.  I went in yesterday loaded it up in the car, yes all 90 lbs by myself, and assembled it last night.  Its the perfect addition to my office and will get all the paper off my floor, now that I have an actual area to store things.  I will probably buy 2 more containers to fill in the top cubbies and I am thinking maybe some metal locker baskets for the bottom.  We'll see how it goes, its a work in progress....

One of Everything, Please.....

I love finding jewelry designers I have never heard of before, this particular one comes via the Coco and Kelley blog.  Her name is Emily Wheat Maynard her line is Elva Fields, and all of her jewelry is amazing!!!  When I went to her site and saw all that she had to offer I was completely overwhelmed by all of her beautiful work.  Jewelry is such a personal thing for most women and to find someone that creates something you want one of every piece of is very rare.  While her retails are a little more than I can afford at the moment,  one of these may be worth saving up for.  My save up for list is getting pretty long.  :)  I had so many favorites I just picked a few to share with you all.  You have to check out her site, she is such a great talent!

This one is my absolute favorite!!!!

Raw Edged Ruffles......

The weather has been amazing here.  The cool mornings and warm afternoons have allowed me to keep wearing my warm weather styles, but layered a bit for the colder weather.  I love this dress!  The floral print and raw edged ruffle hem are the perfect mix of edginess and feminine details.  I went through a couple of jackets and cardigans before deciding on this one, since it was flowy enough to still allow the dress to move.  Then I topped it all off with one of my favorite pairs of boots that I have had for about 3 seasons now.  It will be a sad day when they have lived their shoe life and I can no longer wear them.  We all have that pair right??

A Little Sparkle to Die For....

The holiday season is upon us and before we know it, Christmas will be here.  I've been browsing through all of the holiday catalogs that have slowly been arriving in my mail box and loving all the new product.  In this world full of technology, there is still nothing like sitting on the couch with a warm drink and browsing through my favorite catalogs and magazines.  One of my favorites, J Crew, didn't disappoint.  Their holiday line is full of sparkle, and the pieces from the collection are to die for.

My newest additions...

I have loved every minute of finding new goodies to decorate my home with.  It has been challenging budgeting the home stuff in with my regular clothing shopping but somehow I have found a balance.  While I do have quite a few images saved on my comp for inspiration there are some things that I find while shopping that I'm not necessarily looking for that fit right in with the decor I already have.  While in Austin I found 2 great additions for my house. This great phone for my desk, which is totally non functional, but adds the perfect girly touch to my office.  And this cool fabric on a wooden spindle thingy.  I'm not really sure what to call it but I was told that it is supposed to be used to wrap gifts but I think its new home will be on my mantle for a splash of color.

Casual Saturdays...

As I mentioned in my post on Wednesday last week I was visiting Austin and San Antonio. I had new experiences in each city and in San Antonio I went to this restaurant called Mi Tierra. As soon as you walk into the restaurant it was visual overload. From the metallic colored pinatas hanging from the ceiling, to the music being played on the xylophone absolutely everything in the restaurant contributed to the overall experience.  Not only was the experience there great but the weather gods were also shining down on me the entire trip.  It was the perfect opportunity to wear this vintage sweater I bought last year that I never got the chance to wear.  We were doing a lot of walking that day so I made it super casual with jeans and booties.  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend!

The Food Trailer Revolution!

This past week I had the pleasure of taking a couple days off of work to head to Austin and San Antonio. I love both cities and they are each so unique but I am a little partial to Austin as I lived there for 5 years. For the few days that I was there all that the news talked about was the Gypsy Picnic, which was a chance for all Austinites to sample the offerings from the food trailers that have become increasing popular around the city. I wasn't able to attend but I did make it a point to stop by one of these trailers to see what all the hype was about. I chose to give The Mighty Cone trailer a whirl. Overall the food was just ok, the fries were cold, I have a pet peeve about getting cold food from a restaurant, trailer or not.  It was definitely worth trying though.  Have you been to a food trailer?

Foot Candy....

Do you remember the below collection that was on everyone's blog in some shape or form because we all loved them so much?  Well they have done it again.  Miu Miu has come out with their Spring 2011 collection of incredibly cute and incredibly fun shoes!  They all so look so good that its hard to pick a favorite.  Do you have one?
