Anthro in India!

I had an idea for my post today and it was completely side tracked after going through my inbox and seeing the preview for the new Anthropologie catalog. If you can't tell by now, I'm a little obsessed with Anthropologie. I love the overall store experience, it's what keeps everyone going back for more. It's pretty amazing! Have a great weekend everyone!

The cover def does the job and draws you in. I love the yellow top and the cute straw hat. I can't wait for the new Fall line!

The sparkle detail on the skirt and the delicate lace on this top are so cute. The rickshaw taxi's in the background are also pretty cool!

Yes, this outfit is very neutral but the soft ruffles on the blouse and the pleats on the shorts add that extra umph! Its just pretty!

I love this comforter! Its just so feminine! Doesn't this image remind you of a palace?

April Showers, Its Almost Time For May Flowers!

I love the way a fresh bouquet of flowers adds an extra touch of life to any room. You can take almost any room from drab to fab with just a few stems of flowers arranged in a pretty vase. Buying a fresh bouquet of flowers every week has been on my to do list for quite sometime and although it can be as inexpensive as 10 bucks a week, I still have not managed to get in the habit. My favorite flowers absolutely have to be peonies. What are yours?

Etsy: The Homemade Haven

Have you been looking for a one of a kind gift for your friends? Are you tired of settling for the standard gift card for their favorite shopping destination? Well I have the perfect place for you! Etsy! I’ve actually known about this online community for a few months now but haven’t had the chance to sit down and really explore all that it has to offer. The premise of the site is to offer regular folks like you and me the opportunity to set up an online store to sell their goods. Most of the products are handmade but there are quite a few vintage stores offering one of a kind finds, these have been my favorites to browse. When you have a chance you should def check it out! If you are already know about Etsy, what are some of your favorite shops?

Skinny Cargos!!!

I have been looking for a pair of non denim skinny pants. More specifically a pair of skinny cargo pants. I searched high and low and finally came upon the J Brand Houlihan pant and they sang to me.....literally sang to me.... I saw this feedback from a satisfied customer on the Nordstrom website and who wouldn't buy these pants after seeing this? Made by God's bare hands? Really?

Well, I looked at the price and they are $230.00, 200 bucks seriously? No wonder the only people that I have seen in these pants are celebrities. But hey if I can look like this in these pants I think they are worth the investment.

Anyway, I think that skinny bottoms made from anything but denim is a wardrobe must! Not straight, not slim boot, but skinny. I am seriously trying to justify this purchase, I mean if only celebrities are wearing them they must be cool right? :)

Beyond Vintage is Beyond Cute!

The weather was beyond perfect in Dallas this weekend. I remembered seeing that Elizabeth of Beyond Vintage would be hosting a trunk show at the fairly new Cusp boutique in Neimans Northpark. I made my way to over to the mall and had the chance to see some of the great pieces that are available to pre-order for Fall. After chatting with Elizabeth for a few minutes I found out that she is inspired by all things Vintage, she scours vintage shops to find unique pieces that she can put her modern twist on. I accidentally left my camera at home so I don't have pictures of her new Fall wears that she had, but see below for a couple of my favorite picks from her line. Happy Monday!

Accent Pieces are a Must!

I don't know what it is, but I have definitely been on a decorating kick lately. As I was browsing one of my regular blogs, Design Sponge, I came across the below before and after that Audrey Marie of A Lovely Escape did. I am totally inspired and want to come up with a way to incorporate something similar into my place. I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend!

Mint Candy Apple: My Newest Obsession

I must admit that I love a well manicured set of nails. Although I can't say that my nails are always in tip top shape, as I would rather buy something for my wardrobe, after seeing my old coworker wearing this nail polish I decided that I had to have it. The color is Mint Candy Apple and the brand is Essie. I would've had a picture of myself wearing this fantastic color, which is like the perfect shade of Tiffany blue, but I painted my nails on Sunday and we ALLLL know what happens to your nail polish after about 2 days of wear. Yes its all chipped and in no condition for a blog post photo op. Anyway it was a little bit of a challenge to find in retail outlets as I believe it's a seasonal color, but if you are lucky enough to snag a bottle you won't be disappointed.

My next big project, Maybe???

As I have mentioned before in my previous posts it has been very hard to pick a lane when it comes to decorating my new home. There are just so many things that I like and so many avenues you can take when it comes to decorating. I have come the conclusion that being an interior decorator for a living is a way for them to use their ideas and put them in someone else's home. Its like a way of getting the creative energy out without spending tons of money redoing their house every month. Career move maybe??? :) Anyway I found these REALLY cool barrel back chairs compliments of Craigslist that I am seriously thinking about buying and recovering. They are like a diamond in the rough, so much potential. What do you think?

Ariztia to land in Plano

While I was at the mall this weekend doing my "window shopping" I came across a store front that was announcing the debut of the very first Aritzia in Dallas. This Vancouver based company is a must anytime I am in Toronto. I haven't been there in awhile but it is one of the trendiest chain stores there. I am very excited that they are bringing their boutique style to Texas. Check out some of my favorite looks from their Spring/Summer look book.

Check and Check

Well 2 out of three is good right? So I have to tell you about my weekend. I was SUPER excited for Sunday to come so I could get my Cynthia Vincent for Target shoes. I had my shopping list already in mind so that I would not be distracted. After my quick Sunday work out I was able to get to Target by 11:30. I dashed to the 1st Super Target closest to my house and NOTHING, they didn't even have the shoes out! I went to Guest services they said they didn't even have the shoes in the stock and was able to get the next closest location that had the shoes available. Well I went to the next store and NOTHING!!! Again there were no shoes out. I went to the operator and after waiting for about 20 minutes, as they had to pull the shoes from the stock room, I was finally united with my Cognac colored shoes! I was the 1st person in the store to purchase them. I am so excited, they are so cute, and the pics on the Target website don't disappoint! The "window" shopping didn't turn out to well either. I did make a purchase. I got this Banana Republic bag and it's beautiful. I can't wait to take pictures with my new shoes and my new bag...2 different outfits of course. Happy Monday everyone!

P.S.- Sorry Jen I will have to try your sweet potato dessert another weekend. :(

Pictures for my Frames: Fashion Photography

More and more I have taken an interest in fashion photography. There are a lot of great photographers out there and I hope that as I research more on the internet I will be able to share some of the old and new talent that I find. Today's photos come from a photographer named,Chris Nicholls. I call this shoot Scotland in the Mountains, all the plaid reminds me of a kilt. Enjoy!

We all want one, but can't afford it: Yes a stylist!

Personally I love love love fashion and I know that I do a pretty good job of dressing myself, but sometimes it would be nice to have someone come into my closet from a different perspective to help me create new outfits. Well since I can't afford a personal stylist the next best thing for me for quite sometime now has been Piperlime. One of my favorite stylist, the famed Rachel Zoe, has partnered with one of the newest Gap brands to create a list of her must have items for the season. Its great, it's like having a stylist on call at all times and guess what? ITS FREE!!!! See below for some of my favorite Rachel Zoe picks for the season.

The Best Accessories: Jewelry

I have decided that I want to make a conscious effort to start adding some more expensive "real" jewelry pieces to my collection. I found that I have a need, okay maybe a want, for some more classic pieces that I can wear over and over that will not change from gold to a shade of silver after 5 to 10 wears. While I can't completely give up my small obsession with Forever 21, its def time that I start collecting some better pieces. After seeing this jewelry designer today in the daily candy email, I have decided that I def need to start saving more. Definitely!

From oversized to Mini Purses

As far as I can remember I have loved, I mean L-O-V-E-D big bags. The bigger the better. I can remember buying my first Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag, I found it on sale at Saks, it was so beautiful, cognac in color, and made of genuine leather, oh how I love the smell of new leather. I loved it so much and still give it a go around every now an then. With that love also came a bit of shoulder pain. I couldn't figure out what it was the first couple of times I wore the bag but then I realized with this obsession that I had with large bags also came an extra 5-10lbs that I lugged on my shoulder everytime I went out. Well recently to my surprise I have been more into smaller messenger style bags. I know, they don't hold much more than a cell phone, car keys, and wallet but that's all you need right? Happy Friday Everyone!

Nostalgia: Canopy Beds

I was looking at the new Elle Decor site today, after fellow blogger of Aphrochic mentioned the new update. I have been kind of obsessed with decorating lately and wanted to see what ideas they had for bedrooms. After looking through a few of their ideas I came upon, canopy beds!! OMG, I had a canopy bed as a child and loved it. For some reason I felt that if anything ever fell out of the sky through the roof of my childhood home that I would be safe because of my canopy. I know, I know the crazy imagination of a child right? Anyway it seems that canopies have gone modern. They have def come a long way from my pink, powder blue, and white floral canopy days.....

I'm Having a Moment: Christian Siriano

Last night I was catching up on some of the shows on my DVR when I realized that the new Christian Siriano special had come on the night before. I eagerly started the show and was giddy to know what one of my favorite Project Runwayers was up to. It seems that life for him is going quite well and he has not lost one ounce of his design talent. In fact it seems to only have gotten better with time. The show featured his Spring 2010 collection and boy do I wish I had some gala or award show to attend so that I can wear one of these.
