My Bra Size is WHAT?

This post is a Public Service Announcement to all the female readers of my blog.  I wouldn't typically talk about something that some would consider very "personal" however the information that I received from, Dawn, my fitter from Wacoal moved me so much I just had to share this experience with you.  I was recently invited by the team at Wacoal for a complimentary bra fitting and to see their Spring/Summer line most of which is currently in stores.  So there I was all ready to be told two thumbs up you have been wearing the correct size bra there isn't much work to be done here. Boy, was I wrong!  I must admit that I had never had a bra fitting by a professional and buying these under garments was much of a trial and error process for me, much like trying on clothes.  After being measured I was told that the size I was wearing was completely incorrect, the band size was too large and the cup too small, which I learned is typically the case for 8 out of 10 women.  That means you are wearing the wrong size, yes you.  Dawn, brought me a new bra to try in my correct size, which by the way I would have never in a million years thought I was.  Once the bra was put on and the girls were strapped in I swear I felt like I had gotten a lift, with no recovery time, or thousands spent.  It was like gravity didn't exist and for a moment I felt like I was in my twenties again.  HA!!  We all forget just how important a great base layer is and if you do one thing in 2013 I would recommend that you go get fit for a bra.  You will not regret it.  Wacoal has a great guide on how to measure at home, here, if you are too shy to have someone do it for you.  So say it with me ladies,"Say no to the sag, this year I will get a great fitting bra instead of a new bag!"  :)

  1. I completely identify with you on this! 2 years ago, I went to my local Dillards for a bra fitting and my bra lady suggested Wacoal as well...for obvious reasons! Despite the normal than average price tag, I bought 3 of them...and never have been happier! Though, I did scoff at my bra size as well! I could not believe it!

  2. Hehe! this happen to me a few years back when I went for my first bra fitting at Nordstrom. I was amazed! and I too learned that most women wear the wrong size because they go too large in the band and too small in the cup. Oh! and ever since then, guess what my favorite brand of bras is? WACOAL! The fit on them is just unbelievably comfy and flattering!

  4. This just happened to me! I went to Victoria's Secret recently and I too thought I was going to get the thumbs up for wearing the right size. I learned that I was wearing the wrong cup size and had to go up one which I thought in the past was too big for me but it fit perfectly and gave me the support I didn't know that I needed!

  5. Love this post. Sometimes it's the embarrassing things that we all need someone else to admit to so we can do them too! I feel like every time I get measured that it's a totally different result. I need a measuring superstar. Maybe I should just suck it up and go try again. I can guarantee I'm one of those 8 out of 10. HA.
