Thrifty Finds: Levi's Cutoffs....

I have been wanting a pair of those cute vintage Levi's cut offs.  Each time I was prepared to take the plunge they were either too expensive or the right price but of course not the right size.  So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.  Since they are old Levi's I thought why not take a visit to my local thrift store?  I found this great pair of Levi's shorts for a mere 5 bucks!  The length was a little odd so I cut off about 2'' and ended up with these.

Style Tip:  I love finding ways to own trendy items at a fraction of the cost.  These shorts were a very easy project, and for $5 and a little bit of my time totally worth it.  So get those creative juices flowing, you never know what you will come up with!

Thrifty Finds: Tory's Tunic

I found this tunic at one of my favorite thrift like stores, Buffalo Exchange.  While I do love a good dig its nice to go to Buffalo for the more edited version of a thrift store.  The print had me at hello and the fact that it was an infamous Tory Burch tunic was the cherry on top.  The weather didn't exactly lend itself to wearing long sleeves but I made it work by wearing shorts and these great open toe booties.

Style Tip:  Transitioning to fall is exactly that a transition.  So go ahead wear those light weight sweaters or tunics with your shorts or skirt.  You can top it off with your favorite wedges that you aren't ready to put away yet or throw on some booties.

Thrifty Finds: The Midi Skirt Now with Polka Dots

I found this skirt quite some time ago while thrifting and first loved that it was pleated, then the midi length, and finally the very cool scribbled effect of the polka dots.  It was like having a traditional pattern with a twist.  I was running late, so I threw it on with a white tee one of my usual go to denim jackets, and yes some pattern mixing with my favorite leopard heels.  One last thing about the necklace, its meant to be worn longer but I clasped it to be much shorter to get a different look.  Its fun to play with your accessories that way to make them work with your outfit. ;)  Happy Wednesday everyone!

Thrifty Finds: The Midi Skirt....

OK, so I am a little obsessed with midi length skirts especially when I can get them at a thrift store for a fraction of the cost that their new unused counterparts would be.  Since I am not very tall with super long legs I always make sure to pair them with one of my many platform heels to make sure that the cute look I have envisioned in my head doesn't turn out frumpy.  After putting this outfit together I kind of felt like a modern version of a librarian.

The Other Half....

Do you remember when I talked about thrifting skirt sets and wearing them as separates, here?  Well I finally had the chance to wear the other half of the set.  I was out running errands over the weekend and decided to keep it super casual.  After I looked at these pictures I realized that my purse doesn't really go to well with these shoes but I didn't feel like changing all my stuff to a new one, you know how it is.  Note to self for the next time.  Happy Hump Day!

Thrifty Finds....

I haven't been thrifting in awhile so last week I finally had a bit of time after work to browse in one of my favorite stores.  Boy, did I find a couple great gems. This shirt being one of them.  I love the bright red color and most of all the storm flap detail at the front.  To top it all off I took a peek at the label and it was a vintage DVF.  Have you found any great gems while thrifting lately?

Green with Envy

This past weekend was perfect. I hung out outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather, but the fruits somehow didn't make it into the mix. :) I did some shopping, a bit at the regular mall and a little thrifting. I haven't had the best of luck lately with the thrift store shopping but fell upon a gem of a skirt yesterday. It's the perfect vintage piece, except for the missing closure on the side, which apparently is "part of the styling" at least that's what the store clerk told me. I loved it so much I bought it missing zipper and all. I will have to take a visit to my local Joanne's to figure something out. Anyway I wanted to share my find with you. Isn't it so cute? I can't wait to outfit this and share with you all. Happy Monday!
