Love High...but Buy Low

It seems that the drawstring bucket bag is making a come back.  I remember being in middle school and everyone coveted the Dooney and Burke version of this bag.  This style has been out of the fashion fore front for awhile replaced by the over-sized shoulder bags and more boxy messenger bag styles.  I am a little obsessed with Marc Jacobs handbags and found this cute drawstring bucket bag for $378.00 but while browsing at Forever 21 they had this more affordable version for $29.80.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

P.S.- To all my loyal followers.  Sorry this is a day late, technology was not on my side last night.

Desert Gypsy!

I received the new Free People catalog in the mail today and it is AMAZING!!!  The theme is desert gypsy, and if being a desert gypsy means wearing these cool clothes and looking like these models, then sign me up!  After taking a quick browse on their blog I learned that the shoot was in Morocco and all of the crew slept in tents in the desert.  What an amazing experience that would have been...anything in the name of fashion right???  I couldn't copy and paste the entire catalog into this post so I picked a few of my favorite looks to share with you.

Not your Boyfriend's Cut Offs!

The boyfriend trend has been huge!  I have a couple pairs of denim from the Gap that are boyfriendish, without the saggy butt that often comes along with this trend.  A few weekends ago, I was browsing through the last bit of their sale merchandise when I found the cutest cutoff shorts.  They were the perfect wash and the perfect length! They reminded me of a time when I made my own cut offs with my Levi's that were just a little too short after hitting a growth spurt.  I took a quick scan of the size, check, they were my size, and the price, check, they were a mere $14.97, and headed to the dressing room.  I pulled them on and instantly knew they were going home with me.  I can see them becoming my new favorite short for what's left of the summer.  What is your favorite piece that you have worn this summer?

Dress my Nest: Fire Place Mantel

I was finally able to carve out some time over the weekend to go to Nadeau. What is the place you ask? Well only one of the best furniture stores in Dallas. I have been there quite a few times with no luck, but this time found the perfect piece. This place is a lot like a Ross or Marshalls in that if you see something you like you should probably buy it because it may not be there when you return.  After combing through the open warehouse that is this store, I found the below wood framed mirror. It's beautiful and my fireplace mantel when from drab to fab with just 1 new item. I hope to get a few more accessories to add but this is def a great start!

Flowers.....

I spotted this dress at a thrift store about 2 weeks ago.  I didn't care too much for the pattern but I loved the style of the dress, so I decided that I would make it work.  I knew exactly what I was going to pair with this dress before leaving the store.  I don't know about you all, but when I buy anything new I always take a moment to  make sure I have shoes at home to match.  The first pic I took early on in the day and then decided later on to add a belt, which is just what this very full dress needed.  Happy Monday!

A Little Sparkle....

I love the new sequin trend which will probably come to its peak for the holiday season this year. There is something about taking a detail that is typically worn to an after 5 event, and dressing it down with an oxford shirt, and converse and wearing it to a lunch date with friends or even out to run your daily errand. The possibilties are really endless when it comes to the ways that you can wear sequins. Most of the items that I posted yesterday are more than $100 and not really what most of us would spend on such a trendy piece. Below are my a couple of my sequin picks all under $100. And remember no more than 1 sequin piece per outfit, with sequins less is really more. :)

Items from Top to Bottom:
1. Fossil Sequin Vest $68.00
2. Halogen Sequin Top $29.90
3. Asos Cluster Sequin Skirt $60.64
4. Charlotte Russe Sequin Shorts $24.50
