Splash....

I love adding a splash of color to my outfits.  This time it was this great bright yellow bag and this new lip color from NARS that I just can't get enough of.  I know that its not quite white pant weather but rules were made to be broken right?  I straightened my hair for my biannual trim so I am having lots of fun with it for the week, my curls will be back soon enough.

Style Tip:  With the summer quickly approaching one of the least expensive ways to add color to your outfit is with your lip color.  I normally wouldn't ever try on something so bright but I stepped outside of my safe lip color box and found a new shade that I love.  What's your go to lip color?

When Pattern Mixing Goes Right...

Hey Everyone!  Quick post today.   I wanted to share a recent purchase of mine and if you follow me on Instagram I just posted an image of this dress as well.  I saw it online last week and LOVED the pattern mixing.  I took a quick read through the reviews all of which were raving about how great this dress was so I took a risk and ordered it.  Well, it arrived today and it was everything I could imagine and more, the texture of the dress, the unexpected exposed gold zipper up the back, I LOVE it all and I can't wait to wear it!

Swan Lake....

I love a good print!  You wouldn't be able to tell from looking in my wardrobe since its filled mostly with a sea of solids but every once in awhile I find a print that I love.  The exploded swan print on this dress is just the right amount quirkiness and served as my Sunday Funday attire. Its a shift style but was a bit too full so of course I followed my own advice, here, and added my favorite skinny belt for more shape.

The Go To....

Everyone should have a go to outfit!  Mine is a white tee, black pants, and a denim jacket for an extra layer.  If you follow me on instagram you have seen many versions of this outfit since its like a blank canvas and so versatile.  This time I opted for a pretty simple look for weekend errands.

Style Tip:  What's your go to outfit? This should be a combination that is effortless and that you don't really have to think about too much.  I like my combo because you can literally add jewelry or a great pair of heels to achieve a completely different look.

The Ultimate Upcycle Challenge...

I was asked to participate in an ultimate upcycle challenge where I was given $100.00 to repurpose a piece from a local thrift store.  I was nervous about entering since I don't have tons of experience redoing furniture but decided to take a chance on such a fun project.  I ended up finding the below chair and although reupholstering doesn't come 2nd nature to me I took the bull by the horns and ended up with this after result.  I think this turned out great for being my first time completely redoing a chair.  So now me and all my competition are up and I would love your support, PLEASE vote for me, here.  It will only take a couple seconds and I would appreciate it so much.

Bold and Bright....

I frequent the Karla's Closet blog and love everything about her style.  So when I got the chance to visit Shareen Vintage, one of her go to stores, this past summer I was elated and jumped up and down at the thought of having my very own piece of her closet.  So when I originally told you all that I visited the store, here, I promised an outfit post in a couple weeks, well a couple weeks has turned into a few months.  Better late than never right?
