DemestiksNewYork.....

I have had this dress for several months now.  It hasn't been cool enough outside to wear it so at the first sign of Fall temps I took an opportunity to wear it.  I am so happy that it was still warm enough for me to wear one of my favorite pair of wedges.  If you love this dress there are a lot more equally as cute options where this came from.  Tomorrow starts the Mid Season sale so stock up on a couple of these great pieces.

Grandpa's Sweater...

This very over sized sweater was a recent find at the sale on sale at Urban.  I picked up quite a few items, but this sweater is probably one of my favorite finds.  Its going to be a staple for me as its starts to cool down for the winter months.  The weather was perfectly luke warm this past weekend so paring it with a simple fitted black dress and my favorite Rag and Bone booties did the trick.  What are some of your favorite purchases as of late?

School of Style...The Review....

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of attending class 1 at the School of Style.  I went in without any expectations only knowing that I would be learning about the glamorous world of styling.  I mean Rachel Zoe got a TV show and basically her entire empire from dressing people how hard could be right?  Boy, was I in for a surprise!  The class was taught by Luke Storey, who probably has one of the most colorful personalities of any teacher I have had in my life.  His style of teaching is no nonsense and is focused only on what you will need to maneuver through a career as a stylist.  There is absolutely no sugar coating and the best part is that Luke has made all the mistakes for his students throughout his career and teaches only what you need to know.  There is no calculus, biology, or history here!  I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone that knows that they want to be a stylist for a living and even those that are on the fence.   Unlike a traditional university it only gives you the meat and potatoes of what you need to start and keep a career in styling.  The only challenge that I have to say about the class is the amount of time you spend learning and going forward they will only be offered in NYC and LA, for now.  The class goes all day from 9:00am to about 6:00pm, there is a break for lunch and a few bathroom breaks in between but it is a very long day and a lot of information to take in.   If you have any questions please ask below.  I am happy to talk about my experience from class one.  I hope you are as inspired as I was.

The next class is in LA, next month,  there is a banner to the right click the link to sign up, space is limited so sign up early!

Kitchen Chronicles.....

I have lived in my home for about 3 years now.  When I purchased the house I had a short list of cosmetic updates that I wanted to make: the shaggy carpet to laminate floors, updating the tile in the laundry and guest bath, painting EVERYWHERE, and the kitchen.  The kitchen by far had the most work to do.  It has served its purpose as a regular old kitchen, but I finally got sick of looking at the dingy white sink, the oak like cabinets, and the lame splash guard.  I got some advice from a coworker on where to start, got a budget, pulled out my brass hardware that I have had for about 2 years, and started to execute the idea that I have had for my kitchen for quite some time.  It went from drab to fab and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Ombre Nails.....

Although we are now officially in the Fall season, its still quite warm in Dallas.  I am still trying to hang onto Summer while slowly transitioning over to Fall when I can.  A couple weeks ago I saw a picture on Instagram with this fantastic ombre green manicure.  I loved it and wasn't sure if it was something that I could do myself so I took to internet, found a fantastic video on YouTube, and ended up with this manicure that I am quite happy with.  I am sure there is a version of this that can be done with more Fall appropriate colors.  Happy Hump Day!!!
