Oh so chic and never in flats

Victoria Beckham is one of the chicest women. I love that she is brave enough to always wear a great pair of heels and is almost always in a dress. To me she is the epitome of all that is feminine. Now it seems that we all get to get a little piece of Victoria Beckham in your closet too. See below for a few of my favorites.

Weddings and Parties By J Crew

As I was doing some "research" at work today I came across the J Crew weddings and parties newest look book, available here. J Crew is another one of my regular stops online and in the mall. Its something about the feminine mix of details in all of their outfitting that keeps bringing me back again and again. If the goal was for customers to want to get married, or even just attend a party so you can wear one of these so oh cute dress, then goal ACHIEVED!!!!

My Style Icon: SJP

You have to be living in a box to not know who SJP is, but for those of you that don't know its Sarah Jessica Parker! Since becoming a Sex in the City addict, I have been following her looks from time to time. I love the way the famed stylist Patricia Field dresses Carrie and how SJP is able to take the looks from the big screen to her daily life. Over the weekend I was flipping through the latest issue of InSyle and saw SJP a beautiful yellow Lanvin dress. It literally spoke to me....does it talk to you too?

Before and After, Do you have the eye?

I am so fascinated and inspired by creative people. I think that its mostly because I am surrounded daily by creative people, which is what I love most about my job, the opportunity to work with the outsider of the boxers. I think that I have a moderate amount of the creative bug but I am working on developing the eye for some of the cool before and afters that I have seen as I navigate my way through the sea of blogs available on the net. See below for a few of my favorites. I hope you are inspired as much as I am.

You can leave the light on!

I don't really know why but I have been sooo into lamps lately. During one of my daily rituals, searching the Anthro sale section for deals, I found the first lamp below. I'm not sure where I am going to put the 2 lamps that I bought, but isn't it for the lack of a better word, glorious!!! I love that it's so simple yet so elegant.

Grommets, Studs, and Rhinestones Oh My!

I have been into cool shiny details on shoes lately. From military boots to cute ballet flats, these little bits of goodness just add something extra to a pair of what would be plain boring shoes. Loves all of them!!! What's your favorite pair?

I love this pair! I can see the outfit in my head, a cute little trendy dress preferably in navy and white, a big ring who doesn't love a big ring, gold stud earrings, and the classic 80s Ray ban Wayfarer sunglasses making their way back to the faces of many women.

Spring has Sprung

I saw this cute knit top in the women's line where I work at Fossil and I must admit that it was not love at first site. But after seeing it in the office week after week, it grew on me. So much, that I bought the same shirt in two different colors. At the point of purchase I already knew what I wanted to pair with this white and navy striped number. I also got the chance to wear my new necklace. YAY!

The Ultimate Closet: Haute Hippie

I found the cutest top at Nordstrom Rack last weekend. It was like nothing that I had ever seen before and was by this brand called Haute Hippie. I tried it on only to find that most of the beading was coming off and the asking price was 150.00 which was a little too much for damaged goods in my book. I have been looking high and low for the shirt at another retailer without much luck. It must a couple of seasons old at this point if it was at the rack. Ah well, there are always cute things to buy right. Anyway to much to my surprise as I was checking my email today and Shopbop did a web video with the designer of Haute Hippie, Trish Wescoat Pound. She talks about her line being eclectic, layered, and accessorized. She also talks about the importance of buying key pieces for your wardrobe and building off of them. Lastly, layer, layer, layer, which she also calls mixing ingredients which is just to concept of taking the key pieces in your closet and mixing them with new pieces to make your wardrobe look fresh and new. You can check out the video here. I hope that you get inspired to add a little sparkle to your life......

Brand to Keep an Eye on: BB Dakota

For those of you that don't know me I admit it, I am a closet online window shopper. The first part of recovery is admitting to your problem right? I spend the better part of my free time browsing online stores to see what the next new brand is and mostly just dreaming of having all those beautiful clothes. One brand that has come out of no where and is popping up on a lot of the web retailers is BB Dakota. For some reason I keep thinking of this brand starting as a line that wasn't much to be desired. I do think that some of the styles are a little "juniorish" for lack of a better word. But they have position themselves in a nice niche market catering to in their words, "the glamorous, sophisticated, intelligent, at times demure, at times sexy, always feminine and always confident female". Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from their line Jack by BB Dakota.

What does your Purse Say About You?

I have been obsessing over having a Chloe bag ever since I was first introduced to the brand at my first job at Walt Disney World. I don't know if it was the buttery leather or that cool lock, that weighs about 20 pounds by the way, I just had to have one. For most women their purse is one of the most important elements of their outfit, it is finishing piece that can take an outfit from drab to fab. It also provides many women with the feeling that they too are keeping up with the Joneses. From Louis Vuitton to a basic canvas bag from the Gap, purses are one of the few things that women wear that don't require you to be a certain size. I have been eyeing this bag which is part of the Marcie tote collection. It says that I like bags on the larger end, I love designer labels, but I'm a little out of the box as the color is a bright orange. What does your bag say about you?

Recent Purchase: Animal Belts

I was in one of my favorite stores over the weekend, Anthropologie, and saw these belts. I have been contemplating getting an animal themed belt after seeing them here. It just so happens that had seen the rabbit one 2 weekends ago and decided against it but had been thinking about it all week long. Well, when I saw that it was still in the store hanging from the same cute wooden display, I knew it was meant to be right? Yes, of course it was. Not only did they have the rabbit one but they had this cool wolf/fox one that I thought was equally as cute. I have a few ideas for outfits in my head. I can't wait to wear them!

Wet or Welly?

So I have been toying with the idea of getting a pair of Wellies, also known as rain boots. We have all been there, what to wear when its pouring rain outside? You don't want the entire bottom half of your legs to be soaking wet by the time you walk from your car to whatever the destination may be that day. Anyway, I don't think that they are the cutest of footwear choices but if I had to choose a pair they would def be Hunter, and they would def be these......

Have a great weekend everyone!

First House of Harlow....Now Winter Kate

Most of us know her as the wild side kick of Paris Hilton from the reality show, The Simple Life, but now and days Nicole Richie has mellowed out and has transitioned to the Family Life. She started a jewelry line a few seasons ago, House of Harlow, and has now expanded into clothing. Her new line Winter Kate just made its debut in stores for Spring 2010. I love that I have to opportunity to bring just a little bit of her style not only to my jewelry box but to my closet too...Hippie Chic anyone?

Show me the Cuts, Crew Cuts that Is.

I am always so enamoured by the kid's looks at Crew Cuts( the childrenswear counterpart to J Crew). The clothes they sell are so cute but are really way more expensive than the average person should probably pay for kids clothes. I don't currently have kids but if I did I would dress them like this.......

Aren't they so adorable?

Oscars Please....

On Sunday the Annual Academy Awards took place, and every fashionista was tuning in just to see the great fashion. One of my favorite gowns this year was worn by SJP, yes that's Sarah Jessica Parker. It was this lovely number from Chanel. In the infamous words of Rachel Zoe "Oh my God, Oh my God!!! That dress is bananas!" I will own a dress as beautiful as this someday....

Gourmet Cook In the Making

It was a very gloomy day in Dallas yesterday so I decided that it was the perfect opportunity try a new recipe for dinner. I got on one of my new favorite cooking blogs, The Kitchen Sink, and found one of the best Chicken Marsala recipes that I have ever had. As a matter of fact, I can't remember ever having Chicken Marsala and if I did it couldn't have tasted this good. The recipe was not only a palate pleaser but it was EASY!!! Just a few simple ingredients some and Marsala Wine, who knew that's where they got the name of the dish from, and presto! I am currently on the hunt for a new camera so I borrowed this image from the Kitchen Sink, mine looked just like this I promise.... ;) Doesn't it look divine?
