Love High..but Buy Low

So most of you loved the picture that I posted on Friday, and even more of you loved the wedges that were pictured.  Well I liked them a lot too, and while at the mall over the weekend to my surprise I found a pair that were the exact same style as the ones in the photo.  The ones in the pic from Friday appear to be the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Wedge which retails for about $200, the more affordable option that I found was a mere $30 from Forever 21.  I checked online and unfortunately they were not available there, so you will have to go to your nearest store to see if they have a pair.  I am so excited that I found these and can't wait to wear them.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

Over the years I have bought many a piece of clothing that has just sat in my closet with the tags still attached.  Some of the items were too good a deal to pass up, some I purchased hoping to find another piece to match at a different time, and some just got lost in the abyss that is my closet.  I bought this top last summer from Urban Outfitters and forgot how much I loved it, so I ripped the tags off and made its debut.  It was perfect for the warm weather this weekend, which was spent a little at the mall, and a little at home organizing.  What did you do this past weekend?

I *Heart* It Too!

I found the below image today via We Heart It and I love everything about it.  From the Alexander Wang Rocco bag, to the lovely black wedges and wallet, the product mix just works.  What do you think? Do you heart it too?  I hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend!

Fall Into The.....

Did you think you were looking at images from some high end designer's look book?  Well, believe it or not all the looks are from the GAP!  I know, right?  It seems that Patrick Robinson has a vision that doesn't involve mile high stacks of polos and khaki's that the gap has been known for, for years.  I love all these looks, and the best part is they don't cost an arm and a leg.  Which looks are your favorite?

Fancy Fingers...

Like many of you, I have been into oversized rings for quite sometime now.  I am always on the hunt for a new piece to add to my growing collection of cocktail rings.  There is 1 ring that I have been seeing ALOT lately on many a hand.  I did a little research and found out that it was the YSL Iconic Arty Oval Ring that retails for just under $200, and is also SOLD OUT in the turquoise color that I L-O-V-E!  The price tag is a bit more than what I would normally pay for a costume jewelry but it is so worth it.  While I am on the hunt for this ring, I will just admire it in all the pics below.

Sam for All......

As I read all of your blogs I see that we all share the same sentiment in wanting the winter months to come a little bit sooner.  I can't believe that summer is almost over, and we will all be in leather jackets, high boots, and many of the other Fall/Holiday trends that are soon to hit the racks.  With that said have any of you seen the new Fall shoes from Sam Edelman?   They are the perfect mix of a little bit feminine and a lot of rock and roll.  Meet my favorite picks from the new collection.

The Great Cupcake Adventure!

The cupcake craze has taken over.  From Magnolia Bakery, to Sprinkles, to DC Cupcakes, everyone has their own version of this non traditional favorite.  I've tried a few of the cupcake favorites, and to date Sprinkles has defiantly been my personal favorite.  Well, there is a new cupcakery in town by the name of Dimples that people have been buzzing about, and I was finally able to give it a try last week.  Let me tell you, I can't say that it will take over Sprinkles as my absolute favorite so far but it is a VERY close second.  After the cupcakes I snapped a few pics of my outfit to share as well.  I hope you all had a great weekend.

Banana Pudding the best flavor of the 2 I bought.  It was moist and delicious!

Mix it Up!

I love looking at look books from online retailers.  Today I was on Intermix browsing their Fall 2010 look book and it made me even more excited than I already am for the winter months to arrive.  Tall boots, chunky sweaters, and fur seemed to be the theme across most of the looks.  I wanted to share some of my favorite pics which one is your favorite?.  I hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend.

A GILTy Preview

Hi all my blog world fashionistas!  This ones is for you. The fashion collaboration that I blogged about a little more than a week ago here, is going to be previewed on Gilt tomorrow along with the Mulberry bag and John Derian home goods collaborations.  If you are one of those early adopters and need to have these before they are available for purchase in Target stores then this preview is for you.  The teaser alone makes me want to be at my computer at 10:55 am CST and wait for the minutes to count down until 11:00 when I can see all the goodies that will be for sale in the next couple weeks.  I probably won't get anything since I am one of those shoppers that has to touch and try on my clothing purchases but if you aren't, this is the perfect opportunity for you.  Let me know if you are able to snag anything tomorrow.  Those shoppers on Gilt are FAST!!!

MNG has Landed.

I can't believe it, but the famous Spanish brand Mango has team up with JCPenney to bring its shoppers some new cool product.  While Penney's is not known for their fashion forward youthful clothing, I think this is def a step in the right direction.  For those of us that love the Mango look and don't have the pleasure of having one of their stores in our town, we now have the chance to purchase some of their product.  Below are a couple of my picks, but I will have to take a visit to the store to see if they are purchases.  Have any of you seen this in store what do you think?

Love high...But Buy Low

While at the mall this weekend I saw quite a few cute new fall shoes.  Some were on their first marks but the ones that I really liked were regular price and not even close to being in the budget.  Figures, it always happens that way right?  I did, however, stumble on a pair of shoes that were an almost perfect match for the Derek Lam lace up sandal that I contemplated buying at the Barney's Sale a few weeks ago. Believe it or not the shoes I found are from Carlos Santana and were $99, at Macy's of all places!

Fun at the Park

I took a trip to Houston this past weekend to visit family.  I did some shopping and even made time to stop by some fabric stores to get some upholstery fabric ideas for the chairs that I purchased here.  I am a few steps closer to a final decision for at least one of the chairs, I don't think they will end up in the same room.  While shopping at the Galleria I took a moment to snap a few pics of my outfit I wore on Saturday.  The 100 degree temps in Houston didn't allow me to stay out for too long, but I did manage to get a few good shots.  Happy Monday everyone!

Blanket Stripes...

I was doing my weekly Net a Porter browse and was going to post something super glamorous when I came across the below skirt.  Its over the top, yet understated, bold, yet mild in color, and is overall just a great piece.  Its from one of my favorite designers Marc Jacobs and I love the infinite possibilities for this skirt for the upcoming winter months.  I hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend!

Dream Job = Dream Home

I finally had the opportunity to see the show Man Shops Globe on the Sundance channel.  For those of you who have never heard of the show, the premise is basically following the work life of the Anthropologie hardlines buyer.  His name is Keith Johnson and it appears that he is basically responsible for buying anything in Anthropologie that you can't wear.  So he basically travels the world to the most unique places and meets the most creative people, YES a dream job!!!!  I stumbled across some images of his home on Elle Decor and it was interesting to see the dream house for the guy with the dream job.  Enjoy!

Poouuufff!

The one trend that I am seeing over and over again, while browsing on my daily home decor blogs, is anything Moroccan.  From color palette to the uniquely decorated furniture it seems to be one of the big trends in interior design.  One accent that I have seen on many a site is the below Moroccan Leather Pouf.  They are so cute and offer so many color variations but my favorite has got to be the gold one!  Happy Hump Day!

I am sure that most of you have heard the news, but if you haven't we have yet another awesome co branding marriage coming down the pipeline!  Tucker by Gaby Basora will be available at Target next month for all fashionistas to enjoy.  This brand that typically retails anywhere from $276 for her signature pintuck blouse to over $400 for a Vintage Romper, will be available to us all for $24.99 for the below quilted vest and $44.99 for a fleece jumpsuit.  There is a small spread in the September issue of People Style watch with a few more images if you want to check it out.  I don't know about you but I will be in my local Target bright and early on the morning of September 12th to pick up a few of these pieces.

DIY: What a Difference a Couple Buttons Make!

I have a pair of black shorts that I have never worn because they needed an extra something.  As you can see from the picture below they are very simple with a world of outfit possibilities.   I was in my local craft store this weekend and noticed there was a sale on buttons.  All of them were 50% off the marked price!  I quickly thought about what I could use buttons for and the black shorts came to mind.  I picked up a couple options, took them home, and decided on the vintage looking ones.  I very carefully cut the old buttons off, sewed the new ones on with a needle and thread, and viola!  Instant update.  This entire project cost me $1.40 for the buttons and a little bit of my time on Sunday.  I can't wait to wear these!  Happy Monday Everyone.
