As One Year Comes to a Close a New One Begins....

Wow, like all of you I can't believe that 2010 has flown by so quickly and that it has almost been a year since I started my blog.  I don't usually make New Year Resolutions but always think of a couple goals that I have for myself for the upcoming year.  I know they are the same thing but I like the word goal better, resolution seems so formal.  :)  I have come up with a short list of goals, yes there are some that are more important than others, but none the less this is what I decided on.

I would like to...

Learn to use my camera with out the aid of the auto setting.
Work out one more day during the week.
Find the perfect shade of red lipstick.
Be more forgiving of others.
Find more blogs to love!

Its been a great ride thus far.  I can't wait to see what the new year has in store!

I'm Over the Moon With....

The half moon manicure also known as the reverse french manicure!  I saw the below images yesterday while taking my daily blog browse over to The Cherry Blossom Girl.  I remembered seeing this manicure style on Rihanna but the way Alix executes them is flawless, especially the blue and gold combo.  I have to try this sometime soon and from the looks of the YouTube video I found here, it seems easy enough to do at home.  I think the only tricky part may be finding some great color combos.  What do you think of this look?

Dress Your Desk.......

Every afternoon I love coming home to my desk and updating my blog as well as reading all of yours.  I have shown you a couple pictures of my desk, here and here, but like everything else in my house its still a work in progress.  While shopping at Anthro over the Christmas holiday I came across some of the cutest desk accessories and I had to share them with you.  I don't know if these will end up on my desk but I am in the market for some new fun additions.

Tons of Journals as usual.

I love these cute pencils!

Sheer is The New Black....

As I browse the web I have noticed that more and more there is little left to the imagination when it comes to some of the outfits I have seen.  Don't get me wrong I am definitely an if you have it, flaunt it kinda girl and I have been on the hunt for something a little sheer to add to my wardrobe.  I think its super sexy and if done right can be so chic.  One must wonder though, is sheer becoming the new black?

Inspired by Alexander.....

Although Alexander Wang's style can be a little out of the box at times, there are some of his pieces that I absolutely love.  From a few of his cool open knit sweaters to almost every version of the Rocco bag his style is still not so main stream that you have to worry about someone wearing the same piece as you.  The only exception is his oh so trendy handbags. While browsing for Christmas gifts a few weeks ago I found this sweater.  It totally reminded me of something that would be in his line but at a fraction of the price.  I got so many compliments when I wore it.  I think this may be another statement piece.  I hope you all had a great Holiday!

Winter White.....

I know that its against all rules of fashion to wear white past labor day, but if it looks this good how can you resist?

Its Not Just Coffee Its An Accessory.....

Who knew that Starbucks could be so chic??  More and more I see this little white cup (sometimes clear) popping up in your outfit pictures and I love it.  It adds a bit of reality into the sometimes fantasy world of fashion.  Below are a couple of my favs.

The Holiday Dress....

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a holiday party that one of my friends held at one of our local Italian restaurants.  This was the perfect opportunity for me to break out one of the dresses that I have recently purchased in hopes of having an event to wear it to.  You all know that piece of clothing as I'm sure you have some in your closet too.  :)  You can't tell from the pictures but it is made from the most perfect buttery soft leather and I love it.  I'm glad that I got a chance to wear this before the temperatures dropped too much and I would have been in Uggs instead of these cute shoes.

It May Be Cold Outside But Jeffrey Is Heating Up....

Have you all seen the new Jeffrey Campbell Spring/Summer Collection?  I know most of us can't wear these shoes for a few months when it warms up again, but I couldn't help but give us all something to look forward to.  And hey, maybe its still not too late to put in some last minute requests to Santa.  :)  Happy Monday Everyone!

MEOWWWWW...

For quite some time now I have been looking for the perfect leopard top to add to my wardrobe.  I found one several weeks ago now on a sale rack at Neimans.  It was one of those tops that wasn't so cute on the hanger but make perfect sense once it was on.   It has the perfect full dolman sleeves and just the right amount of fullness in the body, great for all the holiday eating.  :)  And you all know I had to top it all off with a little pop of color.  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend!!

Its All in the Details....

I am a little obsessed with home decor magazines.  There is nothing like taking a peek into someones home and seeing how they live.  I always make it a point to look at the details of a home since they are what really shows your personality.  For me, these are the little trinkets and functional/non functional things that top off any room.  We've all heard it and it truly is the little things, especially in home decor, that make your house a home.

P.S.- I had to add one festive image at the end.  I know this wouldn't normally be on someones table but isn't it lovely?  And all the details put it over the top!

Its Beginning to Look ALOT Like Christmas....

With Christmas party season in full swing, and New Years Eve celebrations falling not too far behind, I'm sure you have all been on the hunt for something fabulous to wear.  I think I am pretty set on what I am going to wear for both occasions but that still doesn't stop me from looking.  I feel in love with a lot of the looks from the Intermix Holiday look book.  Below are some of my favorites for those of you that still need a little inspiration.

Love High But Buy Low....

I know you have been missing a good love high but buy low post.  So I decided that I would post a new one for you.   Today, while browsing the net, I saw these booties from Burberry.  I love how ruggedly cute they are, but with a price tag of $1,095 I am pretty sure I will not own them anytime soon.  Since I love the look of these boots I was able to find this more affordable option from Anarchy Street, less than a quarter of the price of the Burberry pair.  Yes, we all love high, but this is a great buy low option.

A Little Male Influence...

I have been so spoiled by the relatively mild cold weather we have been having.  Well, it came to a halt this weekend when the temperature dipped to the 30s.  I know for you northerners that isn't all that cold but when you are used to 100 degree weather in the summer, 30 is quite cold.  I knew layers were going to be a must!  I saw this tie and thought it would be fun to wear.  I decided on a white collared shirt with denim as the base, and shortly after that the rest of the outfit came together.  This was the perfect mix of layers both masculine and feminine.  Not to mention quite warm.  Happy Monday everyone!
