Bold Burn Out.....

The fabric used for this dress is quite unique and the bold colored burnout velvet is eye catching, which is why its part of my wardrobe. It makes a statement without needing too much extra jewelry or layers.  The perfect dress for a perfectly warm day.

JCP.....

JCPenney, or as it is called now and days, JCP was one of those stores that I frequented way more often when I was younger.  I lived for a great pair of Arizona jeans back in my day.  As I got older the store took a back seat to more boutique like smaller retailers like J Crew and Anthropologie that are a little less overwhelming to shop in.  A couple weekends ago while helping my mom look for an outfit for a party I found myself back in Pennies and found this dress, amongst other things.   Its a flattering knit style and will be a great transitional piece into the colder months.  I can't wait to wear this with my boots and long coat, for now I opted for my go to denim jacket and these gold wedges that I just can't get enough of.

Snap Shot....

I love all the embellishment that J Crew has been doing the past few seasons.  This embellished oxford number had me at hello.  Its one of those pieces that definitely makes a statement and I love it.  I know its after Labor Day but I might try to squeeze in wearing this shirt one more time with white denim shorts....Happy Hump Day!!!!

Love High....Buy Low....

I have been eyeing these Ann Demeulemeester lace up boots for a couple seasons now, but with a price of over $1000.00 I can't justify buying them.  Well with all great high end styles, wait a couple months and there is bound to be an equally cool pair that is inspired by the original high end version at a fraction of the price. While recently browsing the net I came across this very similar pair of Jeffery Campbell lace front boots for a mere $174.00.  These have most certainly been added to my pre fall shopping list.

And There It Was....

Like many of you I love to stop by Blair's blog, Atlantic Pacific, to see what cute ensemble she has come up with.  One of the outfits that she wore at the beginning of the year, here, stuck out in my mind.  I loved the print but when I looked at the brand I immediately knew it wasn't in my budget.  Well, fast forward to Labor Day weekend and I am doing my usual walk through the mall when I found myself in Ann Taylor.  I never go in this store because its usually a bit too dressy for my everyday style, but this time it was different.  On the front table I saw a small collection of what was seemingly the exact same print that I loved almost 6 months ago but at a fraction of the price.  Check them out!
