Eggplant Velvet.....

Lately, I have really been into the look and aesthetic of velvet.  Not crushed velvet that I used to wear in the form of skirt set in the 90s but great velvet pieces for both your wardrobe and home decor.  As I am sitting here listening to the results of the election I found an image of this fantastic family room with a dark eggplant couch as the focal point.  I love that it has the perfect mix of prints, color, and of course its all topped off with that couch!!

Timeless....

I have been in a decorating rut.  What I mean by rut is that for the past few months I have spent all my decorating money traveling and buying clothes and accessories.  With that said, after seeing the  timeless collection that is currently available in Target stores I have become a little inspired to resume my home decor projects.  The line is femininely masculine and has some really great pieces to offer.  Most of the items remind me of pieces that would be in a version of this room that I posted some time ago now.

Printed....

I don't have too many printed items in my house. As a matter of fact as I type this I think the only printed home decor thing that I have is the rug in my living room.  I love the idea of adding interest to home decor through prints and this bedding fits the bill.  The combo of bold colors with the exploded flower print is just lovely.

I saw this and loved these dining room chairs!  I don't have enough room in my current home for this but they are sure fabulous!

 

Citron Dining...

I have been obsessed with the color citron lately!  So when I saw this dining space I knew I had to post it.  I can't decide if its uniquely chic, or an out of date area waiting to happen?  What do you think?  Too much of a good thing?

Hi Everyone, I can't believe that its already Christmas.  Another short post because I am busy trying to make my mom's table look like this. LOL!  Just Kidding.  Isn't it beautiful though?  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and may Santa bring you everything you have been wishing for.

All The Stars May Have Aligned....

Do you ever have those moments that you feel is just meant to be?  As you know I have slowly been decorating my house and its been more on the very slow side lately.  Since all the great summer sales have ended it has given me the opportunity to focus a little more on decorating.  I don't know if you remember but awhile ago I posted this bed and didn't know where it was from.  I kept the image in the back of my mind and wanted to find that bed or something very similar.  Welllllll, I was browsing eBay this weekend and I think I may have found a company to do a version of this bed for me.  Nothing is set in stone but I am SOOO excited about the possibility.  Stay tuned....

Dress My Nest: A Little Inspiration

I finally picked a paint color for all the main open areas in my house.  Now I just need to take a few before pictures and recruit some help from the family for a painting party.  While I get that organized here is a little inspiration that I love.

I just had to post this when I saw it today on Decor Pad.  Who knew that black could be so chic in a bedroom?  This room reminds me of a bachelor's bedroom on its best day.  I don't know that I would ever paint the walls of a room black but if I were going to this room would be great inspiration as a starting point.

Ok, so today I saw the bed of my DREAMS!!!  I have blogged about the kind of headboard that I want here and the color scheme that I am going for here.  So when I saw this bed on a fellow bloggers site, I couldn't resist first saving it to my inspiration file, and second sharing it with you.  I don't know where to find it and if any of you have seen this or a version of it please let me know stat.  This one seems like a budget out the window kinda purchase.

I Love the Unexpected...

Especially when it comes to color selection for home decor.  I saw this room in the most recent issue of Lonny Mag and was immediately drawn to the dusty coral and dark purple color combo.  Need I mention that ottoman is to die for?  Overall this room, is amazingly unique and done in just the right way.  Happy Monday everyone! 

Dress Your Desk.......

Every afternoon I love coming home to my desk and updating my blog as well as reading all of yours.  I have shown you a couple pictures of my desk, here and here, but like everything else in my house its still a work in progress.  While shopping at Anthro over the Christmas holiday I came across some of the cutest desk accessories and I had to share them with you.  I don't know if these will end up on my desk but I am in the market for some new fun additions.

Saving for a Rainy Day....

I saw this cute glass piggy bank today on a holiday gift guide and had to share it with you all. These things have definitely come a long way from those pink plastic ones that I had as a child, that money went into but somehow didn't have a way out. I don't know how kid friendly this is but man is it cute!
