Kitchen Chronicles.....

I have lived in my home for about 3 years now.  When I purchased the house I had a short list of cosmetic updates that I wanted to make: the shaggy carpet to laminate floors, updating the tile in the laundry and guest bath, painting EVERYWHERE, and the kitchen.  The kitchen by far had the most work to do.  It has served its purpose as a regular old kitchen, but I finally got sick of looking at the dingy white sink, the oak like cabinets, and the lame splash guard.  I got some advice from a coworker on where to start, got a budget, pulled out my brass hardware that I have had for about 2 years, and started to execute the idea that I have had for my kitchen for quite some time.  It went from drab to fab and I couldn't be happier with the results.

  1. Wow! What an amazing transformation, girl. High five to you! My husband and I are looking to by our first home, and kitchens are sooooo hard. I am so scared to buy a home with a kitchen I don't love because I'm worried I won't be able to afford to renovate as quickly as I'd like, and the kitchen is probably the most important space in my house...even more important that the closet (gasp!)

You're inspiring me to give those less than perfect kitchens a chance! Lol.

    1. Yes, sometimes its very hard to look past the ugly kitchen, carpet, paint color, etc when you are buying a house. As long as it isn't too much of a major overhaul you can always make it your own. Glad I could inspire you and good luck on finding your first home.

  3. Nice! Did you simply paint your cabinets white or are those new doors, etc.? I've been interested in changing my cabinets from tan to white, but unsure what that entails. Email any advice you have...thanks in advance. TheEsocialite(at)gmail(dot)com
