A Little Vintage....
This past weekend I went to LA to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday. I was so excited to be back in California and to FINALLY have the chance to stop into Shareen Vintage. After seeing many of her stylish pieces on Karla's blog, I was chomping at the bit to get to this shop and check it out. Well let me tell you it didn't disappoint. It was a huge warehouse with tons of vintage clothing, accessories, and Shareen's own line. Shareen and her team were so nice and helped me in and out of a few of the great pieces that I tried on. I ended up getting 2 dresses which I hope to post in the next couple weeks. If you love to shop vintage this is a must stop next time you are in LA.

I Found Them...
Do you remember this post, here, when I talked about a shopping trip that I took to Old Navy? Well, I was browsing their site again today and I found that FANTASTIC polka dot shirt that is a MUST for fall. I even found those SUPER cute heart sweaters! The best part is that each of these items are under $25.00, what a steal!! So if you love them as much as I do, get one or get them all.

Floral Punch......
I got this dress with a gift card I got for my birthday. It was a steal of a deal and one of those purchases that was too good to pass up. I love the dull mustard ground color mixed with the pops of color from the flower print. I decided to top off this dress with my go to denim jacket and, voila the perfect casual look.
Style Tip: Denim jackets are so versatile. I absolutely love wearing them because they can be paired with just about anything dressy or casual. They come in a variety of styles and washes, and in my opinion are a must for any wardrobe.

Overalls....
I swore that I would never wear a pair of overalls again, after living though the early nineties in them not knowing how silly I looked. But alas I found the below pair of uber sexy overalls and I'm teetering with the idea of possibly getting a pair, I know classic case of never say never right? Thoughts, would you wear overalls again, or is it best just left where they are, in the past?

Stripes and Florals, Hijacked.....
I love Blair's style over at Atlantic Pacific, which I am sure most of you have probably been to a time or two. Recently she posted an outfit or two mixing stripes and florals. I loved the mix so much I decided to try my hand at it too since I own one of the dresses that she does. So here is my version of, this, outfit. The last time I wore this dress I was going to a wedding, and I'm so glad I found another reason to wear it again.
Style Tip: In a style rut? Try starting a Pinterest account or creating a new folder on your computer to save some of your favorite looks to get inspiration on those days when you just don't know what to wear. Thanks for the inspiration Blair!!

Fly.....
I've admitted this before, I am one of those people that loves to buy multiples of styles that I love. I've done it with this dress here and here, and now this top. I found a version of this several months ago at Forever with a cute bow print and recently found the exact same blouse with this cute bird print. I love that this top is so forgiving and of course those ginormous sleeves.
Style Tip: Lets talk proportion. This is a very full and flowy top. When wearing this type of style whether a its a top or bottom keep the opposite piece more from fitting. It evens out the fullness of the look and in my opinion is most flattering.

Printed....
I don't have too many printed items in my house. As a matter of fact as I type this I think the only printed home decor thing that I have is the rug in my living room. I love the idea of adding interest to home decor through prints and this bedding fits the bill. The combo of bold colors with the exploded flower print is just lovely.

Fringe...
When I saw this sweater what immediately caught my eye was the fringe at the hem. It is just the right amount of a hippie vibe to be trendy but not so much so that it didn't fit right in with the rest of my wardrobe. There was a white option as well but I decided that this khaki version was a bit more versatile and could be worn into Fall. I opted for dark shorts and my favorite wedges, which didn't prove to the the best shoe choice for walking around the streets of Tokyo.
Style Tip: Found a piece that you love but doesn't necessarily fit into the box that is your style? Well whoever said your style had to fit in a box? The great thing about fashion is that you can try anything and make any piece your own. For example, this sweater can be worn by an absolute hipster as well as a more clean cut gal such as myself. So, don't always get so caught up in your "typical look" if it looks great on and makes you feel good go for it and put your own unique twist on it.

It Really Is More Than Just Performance Fleece......
I finally made it back home on Saturday from my vacation in Japan. My stay was more fun than I could have ever asked for and the memories and experiences that I had I will not soon forget. If you ever have the chance to visit don't hesitate, its a place unlike any other and full of the nicest people you will ever meet. So yesterday I took a quick stop in Old Navy and saw some really great items that I was so excited to share with you. I say WAS so excited because I went online to find images of these great pieces and apparently they are either not available online or are sold out. *Sad Face* But take my word for it there are some really great pieces, a cute polka dot denim button down number, and a heart sweater that is reminiscent of this one from J Crew. I did find these super cute shorts online that perfect for these last few weeks of summer and at a mere $22.94 they are a steal of a deal.
