To my very small audience, which if all goes according to plan will not be small forever. I want to admit, that in the very short time that I have had this blog and I mean short that it has been a new passion of mine. With that said today's Daily Candy had an event tonight at VOD boutique in downtown Dallas that allowed me to broaden, my blog horizons. I had the chance to meet other more famous bloggers. There is this mother and daughter blog duo, Sea of Shoes and Atlantis Home, that is sweeping the blog world. After seeing the post on Daily Candy for their jewelry trunk show I knew that I had to go! I decided this only after being at work and of course not having my personal camera to take with me to document the experience. I was able to borrow a camera from one of my coworkers but I don't have the cord to load the few images that I was able to snap to my comp at home. So this post serves as a TBA, post, I can't wait to show you my new necklace that I bought! Till we meet again tomorrow.

Furniture: I Love It, But I Can't Afford It
So I have been perusing the web for a few new pieces of furniture. And let me tell you there is a lot out there, but its the never ending scenario, you find it, you love it, then you look at the price and can't afford it. I have really been into the vintage look but somehow the word vintage automatically makes whatever piece you are looking for more expensive. It must be that whole supply and demand thing that is driving up the prices. Anyway I can keep dreaming. Check out a few accent pieces, I have my eye on:
1. Lark chair, Gussychairs
2. Teal Art Deco Dresser, Poppyseedliving **I don't care for the hardware, I would change them to something cute and not so art deco looking**

My GILTy Pleasure
Calling all online bargain shoppers….Calling all online bargain shoppers….. So I have to admit, everyday, I receive an email from this not so new website called Gilt Groupe, an online designer clearance shopping destination. I have to say that they've had some really cool designer wares, and home goods at some great deals. I haven’t actually purchased anything, as the only thing holding me back is the return policy. Yes, its one of those Forever 21 esque return policies where once you have spent the money you don’t get it back but you can exchange for something else. I am definitely one of those people that likes to have the chance to change my mind should something not fit quite the way that I wanted it to, esp if I can’t try it on before prior to making the purchase. Hence my dilemma, however, if you are more of a risk taker that loves the thrill of the chase then this site is for you. I do have a few tips that I have learned from window shopping this site daily:
1 You must sign up on the Gilt Website to receive the email.
2 Make sure you look at what you want to buy before 11am CST, make a list if possible
3 You MUST log on right at 11am to purchase your wants, esp. if it’s a popular designer that day, or your item is sure to sell out. **Remember the early bird gets the worm**
4 Also take a look at the entire email, or website and at the bottom you will find a very useful calendar of upcoming designers whose products will be on sale that week.
5 IMPORTANT: Remember the return policy, you can return but ONLY for STORE CREDIT…..

D.I.Y: Wool and the Gang
So I was at work doing research for faux fur trapper hats for our Fall 2010 season when I came across Wool and the Gang at Net a Porter. It was shown on the website as a ball of yarn with yarn needles in a very cute and stylish white paper bag. Well I had to do a little research to see who and/or what this Wool and the Gang is. It seems that a pair of women by the name of Lisa and Carolyn came up with this ingenious idea, a new twist on a typically more senior hobby. The website offers, ready made pieces, as well as these knitting kits which lead to today's blog. For each knitting kit, you are allowed to pick your style to knit, yarn color, as well as a read about the difficulty levels for each style, so you have some idea of what you are getting yourself into. I am a little curious about how easy this actually is and if I want to try it I will have to do it soon. The winter months are coming to a close here in Texas......
Have a great weekend everyone, and happy knitting! :)

The Trickle Down Effect: Oxfords
It's funny how fashion works, first you see a trend on the high fashion runways in Milan and Paris, then you see it on the Celebs, and then it finally makes it way down to the regular folks like you and me, at prices that we can actually afford. Well a trend that has finally made its way down to the masses is the Oxford shoe. I just recently bought a new pair and I have been trying to figure out what to wear them with. I know skinny denim is a must but other than that there are so many options. See below for my new oxfords available at Steve Madden as well as some other styles on my wish list.
1. Rupert Sanderson, only available in London at his store front. (Men's pair but I thought they were cute)

3. Frye Erin Oxford, Urban Outfitters.com (I *Heart* this pair)

Alice in Bloomingdales?
I was flipping the pages of one of the many fashion magazines that I read monthly and came across the launch for Sue Wong for Walt Disney Signature. Since I worked for the Women's Product Development team down in Orlando for 2 years I just had to stop and see what the buzz was all about. It seems that Disney has enlisted Ms. Sue Wong to help them bring the movie Alice in Wonderland to life through her creative eye, in the form of beautiful dresses. While I don't know if I will own one personally as these dresses are going anywhere from $329 to $609 available at Bloomingdales, I wanted to share these great limited addition pieces with you.
I am so excited to see this movie, out MARCH 5th.

Could Heaven Exist in a Cake?
Well if it can't then I came pretty close to it this weekend. I stumbled across this fairly new cake shop to Dallas called "Nothing Bundt Cakes". This has got to be one of the best Bundt cakes that has ever crossed my lips. Upon entering you are greeted by a very friendly, very perky staff. The concept is fairly simple, a lot like my cupcake favorite Sprinkles. There is a menu of all the flavors of the day, and in the center of the menu is the flavor of the month, which is Lemon Raspberry for February. You know that I had to try it. After forking over $3.99 for the Bundtlet, which is the smallest size you can buy, I immediately ripped open the packaging and went to town. Let me tell you it had just the right amount of lemon, with just the right amount of raspberry, and it was the best cake that I have had in awhile. I did very quickly learn that the flavor of the cake gets even better if you let it sit out at room temp for about 10-15 minutes which is outlined on their website. If you are ever in the Dallas, area please stop by this wonderful little surprise of a cake shop. You will not be disappointed!

Invasion of the Jegging!
What is a Jegging you ask? Well let me first tell you where this term came from. I was sitting down for my weekly DVR run though and came across this term while watching Kell on Earth, which by the way is one of my new favorite shows. Anyway its this new phenemonon that is sweeping across the fashionistas of NYC. It is basically a denim pant with an elastic waist. Now stay with me, cause I know you are all picturing yourself as a young elementary school student in a not so wonderful pair of this very thing I am describing. Btw, mine were a stone wash blue, that I L-O-V-E-D and wore every chance that I could. Anyway, its supposed to be the best of both worlds, an easy pull on pant with the durability of a pair of denim. The jury is still out for me as this can quickly turn into a very bad case of saggy butt, but who am I to judge right??
Roses Are Red.....
Flowers, Flowers everywhere. That must mean that Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. I'm not really sure where this holiday originated, but who cares right? It should be a day for women and some men to be pampered by that someone special in their life. Whether its flowers, candy, or a lovely red themed something else, Valentine's Day is a wonderful day for all romantics at heart. I found this arrangement compliments of Martha Stewart . I love the composition of the entire picture. The arrangement in the vintage inspired vase, the cool vintage white dresser peeking out at the bottom, and all the other girly details in the picture. Happy Valentine's Day!

What's Your Scent?
Most of us can recall memories from things they smell. Whether it be fresh baked cookies or homemade bread, which is my childhood scent that reminds me of Sunday mornings in my parent's home, we all smell certain things that remind us of something or someone. Well I would love for one of the scents that remind people of my home to absolutely be any candle from the Capri Blue Line by Aspen Bay Candles. This company has found a way to combine the best fragrances to delight any nose that is within 10 feet of this burning candle. They are a little pricey at $28.00 a jar but worth every penny. If you haven't ever tried this candle, then take my word for it and splurge a little so you too can have a wonderful home scent.....

Halston Can You Hear Me?
So I received an email yesterday from one of my fav online stores http://shopbop.com/ . I remember sitting in class in college learning about this designer Halston who was one of the very influential persons in fashion in the 70s, or as shopbop put it "A Fashion Legend". Well Halston is back and more cool than ever. It seems that I am a day too late for some of these great pieces but I wanted to share these great looks with you anyway.....Enjoy!
